Getting here
Let's get you here.
Detroit Metro
Straight down I-275. Easiest airport in the region by a wide margin.
Flint Bishop
Rarely worth it, but a fallback if Detroit is weathered out.
Wheels recommended 🚗
You'll want a rental car here. Rideshare shows up eventually, but the wait near the facility can be hit or miss.
All drive times are approximate — traffic gets a vote.
Stay
Sleep well.
A few places we'd recommend when you're in town.
DoubleTree by Hilton Detroit Novi
Concur Most Preferred. Full-service with a restaurant on site and an easy run to the plant.
Courtyard by Marriott Troy
Concur Most Preferred if your week also takes you to the Troy side of town.
Hilton Garden Inn Detroit / Farmington Hills
Off-contract, but the closest option when Novi is sold out.
Book through Concur — it stays the system of record.
Eat & drink
Hungry?
The suburbs here quietly have some of the best food in Michigan.
Bagger Dave's / Grand River pubs
Fast, easy, and cheap enough that lunch is a non-event.
Cedarland Restaurant
Metro Detroit does Middle Eastern food better than almost anywhere. Get the shawarma.
Redcoat Tavern
Widely argued to be the best burger in Michigan. Dark, loud, great.
Toasted Oak Grill & Market
Novi's grown-up option when you're hosting, still inside the dinner allowance.
Got some time?
Got some time?
If you've got a free evening, here are a few places worth checking out.
Heritage Park
Wooded trails right in town. Easy 30-minute loop.
Downtown Northville
Victorian main street, patios in summer, easy parking.
The Henry Ford Museum
If you're in manufacturing and have a free afternoon, this is the one.
Useful nearby
Need something?
Kroger
Closest full grocery run.
Walgreens
Basics, chargers, and travel-sized everything.
Good to know
A few things the locals know.
Michigan lefts
You'll pass your turn and loop back. It's normal — follow the signs, not your instinct.
Traffic
I-696 and M-5 slow down 7–9 AM and 4–6 PM. Surface roads are often faster.
Winter
Snow removal is quick here, but budget extra time after an overnight storm.
Local tip
Almost everything is a straight shot down Haggerty, Grand River, or Twelve Mile.
